  1. Excellent quality, excellent price! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 15th Jun 2016

I've been buying spelt berries from a local natural foods distributor, who bought it from a local grain distributor. The last time I bought 25 pounds from them it cost $30 more than I paid here. Significant savings. The quality seems excellent. The grain is clean - no apparent stones or sticks or bits of stuff, like I was getting elsewhere. I mill my own, to mix with rye for a most excellent sourdough. Next time I buy rye, I will come to Montana Flour!

  2. Great Product 5 Star Review

This was my first bulk buy of any grain. I've brought Spelt before in 1 or 2 pound bags here and there and always loved it. I'm fine eating gluten and modern wheat, but it tastes boring, especially pre-milled stuff. All the bread and whatnot that I make now uses Spelt or other ancient grains. Montanaflour's Spelt has been very clean and shipping wasn't too bad. I bought 25 pounds. Will probably go for 50 next time.

  3. Addition of spelt flour in bread 5 Star Review

Posted by on 14th Apr 2016

We've returned to making our own bread. Using bread flour from our grocery, the bread had no "identity". The spelt from Montana flour saved the day. Ground at point of use into a fine flour and added to the basic recipe, the bread became light and nutty. We're sold on Spelt from Montanaflour. Very clean product.

  4. Spelt/Kamut delayed fermentation bread 5 Star Review

Posted by on 16th Mar 2016

I happened upon Tabitha Alterman's 'Whole Grain Baking Made Easy' while reading Mother Earth a few months back. Her delayed fermentation 'Even Better Whole-wheat Bread' recipe using Montana Flour & Grains' Kamut berries for the whole wheat portion and their Spelt berries for 'my favorite whole-grain flour' portion equals a keeper!

  5. Finding the Best Here at Home 5 Star Review

Posted by on 25th Nov 2015

I had never had spelt before a recent rip to Italy. I fell for it hook line and sinker. Although spelt flour was available in my local markets, I could not get spelt berries until I found this site while browsing on the web. The service was excellent and timely, the product is great, and my family has enjoyed three new recipes already. We will easily be life-long fans!

  6. Excellent Product, great results 5 Star Review

I bought a fifty pound bag of spelt grain. It is great quality stuff. I milled it with my Wondermill and then used it in my slow rise artisan bread recipe. Wonderful! Much better flavor and I noticed that it kept its shape better too. The bread was not crumbly and I used 100 % spelt. I will definately buy again. Great price!

  7. Spelt 5 Star Review

Posted by on 18th Dec 2014

Spelt is my absolute favorite grain! I grind it into flour for my bread, rolls, and use it in any of my desserts with great results. Much better than using wheat flour. I have only ever used spelt from Montana flour and grains. My shipment came very quickly after I ordered it. Wish I lived closer to my home state so it didn't have to ship so far!

  8. Good Grain, Good Results 5 Star Review

Milled this grain at home to make a 100% spelt bread. The flavor was more pronounced than grains from local bulk foods resellers.
