    This is my second order of spelt berries from this company. I couldn't be happier with the quality of this product, the price, and the service of Montana Flour & Grains. How wonderful to skip the distributors! Shipping on this order was a bit delayed, but customer service responded to my query immediately and to my satisfaction. It was Christmas week, after all and they were very busy.

    We love the very high quality ORGANIC spelt berries. I grind them in my Whisper Mill to make flour for pancakes and other baked goods. Our grand kids now prefer Grandpa's pancakes over the all the rest. Now I have to supply spelt flour to our daughter so she can make them at her place. My special mix for pancakes is 3 parts spelt flour, 1 part organic buckwheat and 1 part teff flour. Add baking powder, salt and unsweetened almond milk. Mix up everything and make very delicious pancakes or waffles. No eggs, no oil, no sugar, no milk yet they are DELICIOUS. I order the 10 lb bags and use two of them up every year of so. I'm really happy we found the Montana Flour and Grains company. Thanks for your commitment to growing and selling ORGANIC SPELT.

    I ordered this because my local coop ordered me the wrong grain. I needed some Spelt and was close to running out. I had never ordered it on line before but it was fast and easy. The grain came quickly and appears to be high quality. I have ground some and it's perfect. I have found that bread and pancakes made of Spelt do not raise my blood glucose and I am diabetic. I will order again when I need some.

    I used the Spelt grain for the first time for breakfast this am. I cooked it last night so I could just warm it this morning. I really liked the flavor and the chew. Chewing Spelt grain is something like having little bubbles between your teeth. I enhanced the grain with a little butter and a dab of Steen's pure cane syrup. Leaves you sated for some time.

    I've been buying spelt berries from a local natural foods distributor, who bought it from a local grain distributor. The last time I bought 25 pounds from them it cost $30 more than I paid here. Significant savings. The quality seems excellent. The grain is clean - no apparent stones or sticks or bits of stuff, like I was getting elsewhere. I mill my own, to mix with rye for a most excellent sourdough. Next time I buy rye, I will come to Montana Flour!

    This was my first bulk buy of any grain. I've brought Spelt before in 1 or 2 pound bags here and there and always loved it. I'm fine eating gluten and modern wheat, but it tastes boring, especially pre-milled stuff. All the bread and whatnot that I make now uses Spelt or other ancient grains. Montanaflour's Spelt has been very clean and shipping wasn't too bad. I bought 25 pounds. Will probably go for 50 next time.

    We've returned to making our own bread. Using bread flour from our grocery, the bread had no "identity". The spelt from Montana flour saved the day. Ground at point of use into a fine flour and added to the basic recipe, the bread became light and nutty. We're sold on Spelt from Montanaflour. Very clean product.

    I happened upon Tabitha Alterman's 'Whole Grain Baking Made Easy' while reading Mother Earth a few months back. Her delayed fermentation 'Even Better Whole-wheat Bread' recipe using Montana Flour & Grains' Kamut berries for the whole wheat portion and their Spelt berries for 'my favorite whole-grain flour' portion equals a keeper!

    I had never had spelt before a recent rip to Italy. I fell for it hook line and sinker. Although spelt flour was available in my local markets, I could not get spelt berries until I found this site while browsing on the web. The service was excellent and timely, the product is great, and my family has enjoyed three new recipes already. We will easily be life-long fans!
